Film cover analysation: Mr. & Mrs. Smith

- We can tell this film is an Action Comedy film by the way Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are represented. We can see that they are a married couple that hate each other and want to kill one another as they are both on opposite sides of the shot and have guns. This shows it is both action and comedic.
- They use stars and genre to sell the film, as it is the usual type of film these two stars feature in. However they usually star as the main character defeating others, never as a two-star hatred/love combination.
- The bullet holes in the full stops of the title also represent the action film, mixing in with a plain wedding type font which adds to the comedy side as it is quite contrasting. The red '&' shows danger and alert.

Spiderman 3 Poster - Genre Case Study

The genre of the Spiderman trilogy is Action about a superhero. In this advertisement poster we can see that it is quite dark and sinister, showing the dark undertone of the film. We can see that it is a typical good vs. bad superhero action film because we see that there is a divide of colour (black and red). The symbolic Spiderman red shows the good side as throughout the trilogy we learn that Spiderman is known for his red suit, and the opposite side (the black side) shows the bad. This proves it is an action film just by the colour clash. If we look into the poster even more, we see that the spider logo's are different on the different sides, the good side being more slick and original whereas the bad side is more spooky and crooked.
